After a day of pounding wind and rain, the front moved through, leaving spectacular cloud formations followed by clear blue skies. The next morning at low tide, we made our way down the steps to the beach to see the aftermath. Apples from the trees high up on the bank had washed down to the beach below. The seagrass swirled in dramatic patterns. Channels of erosion looked like miniature canyons revealing layers of stones, shells and sediment. Beyond the visual, there was an energy present that I can only describe as mystical. Was it all these natural forces colliding at one time, or maybe it was just the place itself? Whatever is the case, I hope this work conveys a small piece of that energy.
